Is HighLine Tattoo NYC appointment-only?
Yes. HighLine Tattoo NYC is a private, appointment-only studio. We do not accommodate walk-ins.
Each session is reserved individually to allow our artists to give every client the time, attention,
and privacy their work requires.
How do I request an appointment?
All appointments begin through our online Appointment Request Form. Please include your design idea, approximate size, placement, reference images, and preferred artist so our team can properly review your request.
Once reviewed, we’ll follow up with availability, a price estimate, and the next steps for securing your appointment.
Appointments are generally scheduled up to two months in advance.
How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
You must be 18 years of age or older. A valid State or Federal photo ID is required at your appointment.
In accordance with New York State law, we cannot tattoo anyone under the age of 18, including with parental or guardian consent. No exceptions.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Our studio minimum is $350 per tattoo.
Pricing is determined by the size, placement, complexity, level of detail, and overall scope of the design. Larger or more involved pieces may be quoted at a flat rate or based on our $450 hourly rate.
Because every tattoo is approached individually, final pricing may be adjusted if the size, placement, or design changes during your consultation.
How do I receive a price estimate?
Please submit an Appointment Request Form with as much information as possible, including your design idea, desired size, placement, and reference images.
Our team will review your request and provide an estimated price range before booking.
Once your appointment is secured, your session begins with a brief consultation with your artist to review the design, proportions, placement, and any final adjustments before tattooing begins.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is required to reserve all appointments.
Your appointment is not confirmed until the deposit has been received. Deposits are applied toward the final cost of your tattoo and are non-refundable.
Because appointment times are reserved specifically for each client, late cancellations or rescheduling may result in the deposit being forfeited.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No. HighLine Tattoo NYC operates exclusively by appointment.
Maintaining an appointment-only environment allows us to keep the studio calm, private, and focused while giving each client and artist dedicated time for their session.
Does getting tattooed hurt?
Some discomfort is expected, although the level varies depending on placement, size, session length, and individual sensitivity.
Your artist will make sure you are comfortably positioned and can take breaks when necessary throughout the session.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
The initial healing period is generally around 1–2 weeks, while deeper layers of the skin continue to recover afterward.

How do I care for my new tattoo?
Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided following your session.

How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please arrive well-rested, hydrated, and having eaten a full meal before your session.
Avoid alcohol before your appointment, and wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the area being tattooed.
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you, so we also ask that you arrive on time. If you have any questions or concerns before your session, please contact the studio in advance.
Can I bring someone with me?
To maintain the private and focused atmosphere of the studio, we recommend arriving alone whenever possible.
If you would like to bring a guest, please contact us beforehand so we can confirm whether we can accommodate them during your appointment.
When will I see my tattoo design?
Designs are typically finalized with your artist as part of your appointment. This allows the artwork to be properly adjusted for your anatomy, placement, and final size.
Your session includes time to review the design with your artist and make reasonable adjustments before tattooing begins.
